This coming week will mark the launch of Diablo 4, and players can now begin pre-loading the game. There is an option to download high-resolution versions of the game's assets, but doing so will significantly increase the size of your download by 45 GB. The pack will be downloaded immediately, but you will have the option to skip it if you so choose. It is worth it to download assets with a high resolution if you want the best possible visual experience; however, doing so will reduce the overall performance of the game.

Should you put High-Resolution Assets for Diablo 4 onto your computer? It's possible that the textures won't be worth it unless you have a very capable computer with about 32 gigabytes of RAM, a powerful graphics card with 16 gigabytes of VRAM or higher, and a 4K display. If you are playing on a 1440p system and all of your graphics settings are turned up, enabling the textures will require approximately 14 gigabytes of VRAM. If you play at 2160p (4K), the amount of VRAM that is used will be even higher.

If you intend to play the game at a resolution of 1080p, then purchasing high-resolution assets is a waste of money. Downloading the game and playing it both with and without high-quality textures is something we strongly advise doing before purchasing the game. In the event that the assets cause performance issues for your game, you always have the option to remove the asset pack, which will clear up 45 GB of space on your hard drive.

Instructions on how to delete high-resolution assets from Diablo 4 after the download of your game is finished on Battle. net, you will have the option to delete the assets from your hard drive if you do not intend to make use of them:
